Levy UK and Ireland's Harry Ridley reflects on Retail Technology Show 2025 at London ExCel

Harry Ridley, Head of Technology at Levy UK and Ireland, has taken to social media to give his thoughts on Retail Technology Show 2025, which took place in London earlier this month.

In a LinkedIn post, he said: "Absolutely, as billed, a carnival of technology and innovation. Must attend event to engage with fellow tech heads, discussing latest trends, iterations of solutions and collaborating to solve known challenges in retail."

He added: "From FreedomPay commerce payments, SmartQ order and KMS screens, Elo Touch Solutions kiosks, and Melford Technologies installation experts to cutting-edge retail AI technology, several first to market solutions; people tracking and MiTEQ automatic RFID inventory systems.”

“For this event, my brilliant team launched new digital shelf labels and video rails in our frictionless Market Express store (powered by Just Walk Out technology). Huge shoutout to VusionGroup and Conor Brennan for delivering on super tight timelines."

"Digitalising shelf labels doesn't just save labour and minimise pricing mistakes, by leveraging the latest v-rails and digits assets these labels now enhance and entice the customers into stores. Increasing revenue, customer experience and providing further activation space for sponsors, best sellers and promotions."

Ridley concluded: "Final stop at our beautiful Waterfront Kitchen & bar, only five minutes walk from London ExCel. Caught up with our wider Built by Levy team, under the spring sun, with fresh and delicious food. Stunning location and talented people!"

RTIH AI in Retail Awards

RTIH, organiser of the industry leading RTIH Innovation Awards, proudly brings you the first edition of the RTIH AI in Retail Awards, which is now open for entries.

As we witness a digital transformation revolution across all channels, AI tools are reshaping the omnichannel game, from personalising customer experiences to optimising inventory, uncovering insights into consumer behaviour, and enhancing the human element of retailers' businesses.

With 2025 set to be the year when AI and especially gen AI shake off the ‘heavily hyped’ tag and become embedded in retail business processes, our newly launched awards celebrate global technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world and the resulting benefits for retailers, shoppers and employees.

Our 2025 winners will be those companies who not only recognise the potential of AI, but also make it usable in everyday work - resulting in more efficiency and innovation in all areas.

Winners will be announced at an evening event at The Barbican in Central London on Wednesday, 3rd September.

This will kick off with a drinks reception in the stunning Conservatory, followed by a three course meal, and awards ceremony in the Garden Room.
